OUT FOR A DRIVE - The Driver's Roadbook, Spain and Portugal sample (DRAFT)

WHAT'S IN HERE
START-HERE.html Open this first. Works on iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows,
with or without a signal. One tap per road.
roadbook.pdf One page per road. Opens on any phone, no app needed.
Page 2 is every road on one map, and each number on it
                    opens that road's page.
gpx/ The route files, one per open road. A road that is shut
                    ships none.
LICENCE.txt What you may and may not do with this.

ON A PHONE
Easiest: open START-HERE.html and tap "Drive the route".
With a nav app: open the GPX file and choose komoot / Kurviger / Calimoto /
OsmAnd / Locus. On iPhone, tap the file in Files, then Share, then the app.
On Android, tap the file in Downloads and choose the app.
In the car: copy the gpx folder onto a USB stick for most factory systems.

WHICH ROADS ARE NEAR YOU
Two ways, one in each file. In START-HERE.html, type the town you are
starting from, or press "Use my location": the list re-sorts nearest first
and every road gains a distance. In the roadbook, page 2 draws all 44
roads on one map, with reference cities on it to place yourself against.
Both distances are straight lines. In the mountains the road is always longer
than the line, so read them as an order to drive in rather than as a journey
  time.

ABOUT THE ROUTES
Google Maps follows the road closely but can vary at junctions. The GPX files
are exact. Where a road is closed we say so and print no route link at all.

WORTH STOPPING FOR
Every road carries up to four places: somewhere to eat well, somewhere to eat
cheaply, somewhere to sleep and something worth looking at. A place is only
printed if something current says it is still trading, and its opening window
is printed whenever it has one. An empty slot means we could not confirm a
place, not that there is nothing there.
